MANILA, Philippines – Applying for a driver’s license and other transactions can now be accomplished online through the Land Transport Management System (LTMS), said the Land Transportation Office on Tuesday.

The LTMS is an online system that accommodates clients’ application and renewal transactions for both driver’s and conductor’s licenses among other transactions currently available in 24 LTO offices nationwide.

With the new LTMS, applicants may submit an application for new applications and renewal of driver’s or conductor’s license, and other miscellaneous transactions.

They can also book an appointment and pay for these driver’s license transactions online by registering an account at portal.lto.gov.ph.

The online transactions also include the application for student permit. However, this will be suspended from July 1 to August 3 to allow new training requirements.

“We are fast-tracking necessary preparations so that more LTO offices will be equipped with the LTMS. Rest assured that while we shift to the new normal, we will surely adapt to digitalization,” LTO chief Edgar Galvante said in a statement.

LTO gradually launched the LTMS in accordance with the digitalization efforts implemented by the Department of Transportation as part of containment measures against the spread of the coronavirus disease.

LTO also said they will start pilot testing the system for motor vehicle registration next week. Jim Mendoza, Trainee
