Did You Know: 5.7 million tourism workers recorded in 2019
Data from the 2019 Philippine Tourism Satellite Accounts sourced from the Department of Tourism and recently released by the Philippine Statistics Authority showed that around 5.7 million people were employed in tourism industries.
Employment by industries included passenger transport (38.3 percent); accommodation, food and beverage (33.6 percent); miscellaneous like spas or foreign exchange (14 percent); recreation, entertainment and cultural activities (7 percent); retail trade on tourism-characteristic goods (6.5 percent); and travel agents, tour operations and tourism guides (0.7 percent).
