Rainy skies in Palawan, Visayas due to ITCZ — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Palawan and Visayas would continue to see rains due to the effects of the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), state meteorologists said on Friday.

According to the 5:00 p.m. updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), isolated rains and thunderstorms would prevail over the said areas including Northern Mindanao.

Despite the rains, Pagasa noted that they have not spotted any low pressure area or a storm that may enter the Philippine area of responsibility in the next three days.

Forecasts for Saturday show cloudy skies over Palawan, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, and parts of Zamboanga Peninsula, while the rest of the country would experience a generally fair weather.

Pagasa warned residents of the said areas over possible lightning strikes, and flash floods and landslides for those living in low-lying areas and near mountain slopes.

Temperatures in Metro Manila would range around 25 to 34 degrees Celsius, while it would be slightly colder in Cebu at 25 to 32 degrees, and 25 to 33 degrees in Davao.

No gale warning has been raised which means seafarers and fisherfolk using small boats can set sail, as sea condition in all parts of the country is expected to be slight to moderate.
