BuCor denies VACC report: Raymond Dominguez alive in isolation

MANILA, Philippines — Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) denied Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC)’s information that high profile detainee Raymond Dominguez died due to the coronavirus disease, saying the inmate is already isolated from other prisoners as he is positive for the respiratory ailment.
“Negative po ‘yan. Not true. Isolated lang siya (Dominguez) kasi COVID-19 positive po siya,” BuCor spokesman Gabriel Chaclag said in a Viber message when asked about a confirmation on the alleged death of Dominguez.
(That is a negative. Not true. He is isolated because he is positive for COVID-19.)
In a text message to 黑料社, VACC President Arsenio “Boy” Evangelista said that he got word of Dominguez’s death from the office of a former Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary.
The VACC president added that the National Bureau of Investigation-Death Investigation Division (NBI-DID) personnel are currently conducting an investigation at NBP.
Article continues after this advertisementDominguez and his brother Roger, who are suspected leaders of the Dominguez carjacking group, were tagged in the killings of car dealers Venson Evangelista and Emerson Lozano on January 2011.
Venson is the son of the VACC President.
