PUERTO PRINCESA CITY鈥擳wo workers suffered injuries after being electrocuted while installing street lights in McKinley Hills Subdivision at the village of Sicsican in this city on Friday (Aug. 14).
Claire Guludah, spokesperson of Palawan Electric Cooperative (Paleco), said that the workers鈥擡dgar Mel Lojera and Sabsarim Sali鈥攚ere electrocuted on the 69 kilovolt (kV) line past 5 p.m. The accident triggered a major power outage in the city which lasted until Friday night.
Lojera and Sali are employees of GSMAXX, a contractor in charge of the street light project of the local government.
Lojera, in an initial report, was said to have been in 鈥渃ritical condition鈥 while Sali suffered serious injuries. The two were taken to the nearest hospital.
