SWS: 79% of Filipinos say life worsened since pandemic

/ 04:25 AM August 15, 2020

The latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey found that majority of Filipinos believe their quality of life has gotten worse compared to last year in the face of the unprecedented crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Conducted from July 3 to 6, the survey found that 79 percent of Filipinos said their quality of life worsened (losers) while 8 percent said it got better (gainers). Twelve percent said their quality of life remained the same (unchanged).

Although the survey is a “cause of concern,” Malacañang assured the public that the government is working to mitigate the economic impact of the new coronavirus pandemic and help Filipinos “recover gradually.” —With reports from Inquirer Research and Julie M. Aurelio
