LOOK: Ilocano engineering grad gives old bedroom a Japanese-inspired makeover

An Ilocano civil engineering graduate, overcome by inspiration, explored creative concepts for his bedroom鈥檚 new look amid the quarantine.

Sonder Evennys Agustin, a 22-year-old fresh graduate from Mariano Marcos State University, shared photos of his newly renovated room with a minimalist Japanese-inspired design, in his house in San Nicolas town, Ilocos Norte, as per his聽 on Saturday, Sept. 5. He is also a co-owner of 聽which offers renovation services.

鈥淢y family just gave me a woodwork shop because I really love woodworks. And because of COVID-19, I [made] myself busy by [woodworking] and recording my room renovation contracts,鈥 Agustin told 黑料社 in an interview.

Agustin, just like other people who deal with disruptions to their daily routines due to the global pandemic, thought of turning to his hobby to become productive.


鈥淒ue to COVID-19, we cannot take the board exam, so I decided to make woodwork stuff and post it on my YouTube channel as my content. And one day, I thought of 鈥榳hy not do a room renovation and use it as my content?鈥欌 he added.

Agustin thinks this new setup of his room would help him sleep better and more comfortably. He spent only around P100,000 on the materials he used, and it took him 30 days to finish redecorating his room.聽
