Quirino doctor tests positive for COVID-19

CABARROGUIS, Quirino –– A senior hospital physician here has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), officials said.

Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua said the doctor works at the Quirino Providers Medical Center but resides outside the province.

Being a non-resident of Quirino, the doctor was not included in the province’s COVID-19 tally.

The doctor has been asymptomatic and was quarantined for 14 days.

Fifteen health workers, who came in contact with the doctor, were also swabbed for COVID-19 and were awaiting the test results.

The hospital was also locked down for two days to give way to disinfection.

Five of the province’s COVID-19 patients were already cleared and discharged from hospitals, Cua added.
