MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he wants all confiscated shabu to be destroyed in a week to prevent it from being stolen or recycled.

“I am reminding whoever is in charge of these things, I will make a visit to the facilities kung saan ninyo tinatago ang droga,” Duterte said in a pre-recorded speech.

“I want all the shabu, residual or otherwise, however minimal, destroyed. The all of it, by next week. You have so many days to do it. One week. Do it one week. Destroy and get specimen. Tutal, pag mag-ocular inspection, may prosecutor ‘yan,” he added.

The President stressed that by doing this, stealing and recycling of illegal drugs could be avoided.

“Pero may mga pulis na ganun. Ninanakaw o kaya hindi nirereport. Yun sila, ganun ang style nun. Magnakaw, 20 kilos, ireport ang 1 kilo. Yung 19, irecycle, ipagbili ulit. That was really f***ing the system. We can more or less improve things and better protect the people,” Duterte said.

“I hope the Supreme Court will agree with me. Just a few days after they should be destroyed and be accounted for accurately. As I said, sans the practice of stealing and recycling. But that is another thing,” he went on.
