A grandmother and a mom saved the latter鈥檚 7-year-old son from a man who stole their SUV in New York City.

The two (names withheld) were loading items into their vehicle鈥檚 trunk on Oct. 1 when the incident happened, as per the New York Post yesterday, Oct. 7.

The women had left the keys in the car鈥檚 ignition while the boy lay in the backseat. As the two were moving the objects, an unknown man suddenly jumped inside it and drove off.

As soon as the car began moving, the grandmother immediately held on to one of its doors.

鈥淚 grabbed the door and he pulled me 30 feet,鈥 she said in the report. 鈥淚t was a surreal experience. I started in one place and ended up somewhere down the block.鈥

Meanwhile, the child鈥檚 mother ran after the vehicle. When it suddenly stopped along North Conduit Avenue and Rockaway Boulevard, the mom immediately opened one of its doors and pulled her son out.

Following the incident, the grandmother recalled that she 鈥渏ust wanted to get him out.鈥

鈥淭hat鈥檚 all. I didn鈥檛 care about anything else, even my pocketbook, which was on the seat right in front of me,鈥 she was quoted as saying. 鈥淚 could have grabbed it, but that鈥檚 just where my head was. You hear things about children getting abducted.鈥

The grandmother sustained cuts to her knees and back pain from the incident, while the mom鈥檚 legs were injured after falling onto the ground.

Authorities have yet to track the SUV and the unknown man as of later that evening. According to the report, police were also continuing an investigation into the theft. Ryan Arcadio聽/ra
