18-year-old鈥檚 home gets raided after sending his photos with cash from selling cocaine

An 18-year-old boy was arrested after he sent out photos of himself posing with bundles of cash that he earned from selling cocaine.

Adam O鈥橰eilly, from Abertridwr, Wales, sent the pictures to his friends, as per the Daily Mail yesterday, Nov. 4. However, police eventually learned of them and raided his home. They found the photos on his cellphone.

Authorities noted that the amount of cash he had totaled to over 拢6,000 pounds ($7,800 or P378,100). Along with the money, officers also located cocaine and ketamine that were worth 拢3,700 pounds ($4,800 or P233,200) and 拢3,000 pounds ($3,900 or P189,000), respectively.

During a court hearing regarding his case, prosecutor Eugene Egan explained that O鈥橰eilly sold an ounce of cocaine for 拢1,300 pounds ($1,600 or P81,900).

鈥淭here were photographs of him with large amounts of cash and Snapchat videos offering drugs for sale,鈥 Egan said in the report.

Meanwhile, O鈥橰eilly鈥檚 lawyer, Paul Hewitt, stated the teenager was enrolled in a carpentry course before his area was placed under lockdown.

鈥淗e was at a loss as to what to do and embarked on this drug dealing escapade,鈥 Hewitt said while mentioning that O鈥橰eilly now realizes 鈥渉ow silly he has been.鈥

鈥淭hese are the best years of his life which he is going to waste away,鈥 Hewitt was quoted as saying.

After further investigation of his phone, authorities discovered that O鈥橰eilly sent messages relating to ecstasy deals and trafficking of ketamine. He also intended on buying cocaine in batches that were worth 拢5,000 ($6,500 or P315,100).

The teenager eventually pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the drugs and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

Following the hearing, he was sent to a young offender institution for three years at Cardiff Crown Court. According to the report, he also faces losing the bundles of cash in a separate proceeding. Ryan Arcadio/NVG
