BACOLOD CITY—A village councilor on a police list of drug suspects was assassinated by two men on a motorcycle in Sagay City, Negros Occidental province on Thursday (Nov. 12).
Mario Negro Agabon, 36, was on his way home in a tricycle when the assailants cut the tricycle off and shot Agabon.
Maj. Albert Sy, Sagay police chief, said Agabon was rushed to the Sagay District Hospital but did not make it there alive.
The suspects, who were wearing face masks, fled toward the village of Bato in Sagay City.
Found in the crime scene were shells for .45 caliber bullets.
Sy said three of four persons of interest had been taken into custody.
