President Duterte on Saturday said he would pardon Philippine National Police chief Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas if he would be found liable for the gathering held on his birthday, for which he is facing a complaint for violating quarantine protocols. Mr. Duterte, in a video message, said Sinas did not commit anything that had 鈥渕oral implications or malice.鈥� Mr. Duterte said the 鈥渕a帽anita鈥� for Sinas鈥� birthday, held in May, was not the police general鈥檚 fault. 鈥淚f he鈥檚 found liable for it, I would pardon him,鈥� he added. 鈥擫eila B.
