CITY OF ILAGAN 鈥撯 At least P6.2 million worth of damaged power lines were reported in Isabela, leaving 30 percent of households without electricity as severe floodings hit the province in the last four days.
David Solomon Siquian, general manager of the Isabela Electric Cooperative II ( Iselco II) said 24 villages in Ilagan City alone have remained without electricity as of Monday.
In the entire province, power lines have yet to be restored in 67 villages.
Esmeralda Esteban, a resident of Sitio Barikir in flood-prone Fugu village here, said power outages started to hit their area on Nov. 12.
鈥淭he restoration of the lines would usually take two or more weeks in our place,鈥 she told the Inquirer.
