A nurse is being hailed a hero after she rescued a family of six from a house fire in Arizona, USA.

Carolyn Palisch noticed that smoke was coming from the family鈥檚 home next door on the morning of Jan. 1. She then rushed outside to warn them about the fire, as per AZFamily on Jan. 3.

However, Nicole Salgado, her husband, David, and their four kids were sound asleep when Palisch reached their house.

Despite no one coming to the front door, the nurse continuously banged on it to wake the family and warn them of the fire. A security camera also showed Palisch slamming the door while shouting, 鈥淕et up!鈥

鈥淎ll I could think of was the kids,鈥 Palisch told the news outlet.

When one of the Salgados finally opened the door, Palisch quickly made sure that they all exited the house safely.

鈥淭he firefighters told us that if it would have been five minutes later, then that roof would have come down on us,鈥 Nicole recalled.

Following the rescue, Palisch expressed that she was simply glad to see her neighbors safe and alive.

鈥淚鈥檝e been a nurse for 40 years and you hope that you鈥檝e always done good for everyone but to actually see the result and to see them alive and well and their children are here,鈥 she added. 鈥淐an鈥檛 ask for nothing else.鈥

As for the Salgados, Nicole stated that they now consider Palisch more than just a neighbor.

鈥淪he鈥檚 family, she鈥檚 going to be a part of our lives forever, you know,鈥 Nicole said in the report. 鈥淪he saved our life.鈥

Nicole has also since set up a to help them get back on their feet.

鈥淲e are doing OK, the kids are of course a little traumatized but they are resilient and strong kids,鈥 she said in an update today. The family has received over $31,000 from more than 1,400 donors as of this writing. Ryan Arcadio聽/ra
