Covid-19 cases in PNP breach 12,000 mark

More than 5 percent of the Philippine National Police personnel has contracted the new coronavirus, after its cases breached the 12,000th mark on Friday.

Among the new cases recorded was Police Gen. Debold Sinas, the PNP chief, who tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus on Thursday night.

Of the 12,001 confirmed cases at the PNP, 752 are active cases.

Police Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana, spokesperson for the PNP, said Sinas has remained in “high spirits” despite catching the virus.

Sinas was asymptomatic and volunteered to be confined at the Kiangan treatment facility inside Camp Crame.
