Camarines Sur gov suspends work in the capital, other offices due to ‘Bising’

LEGAZPI CITY –– Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Luis Villafuerte has ordered the suspension of work in the capitol and other provincial government offices on Monday due to continuous rains brought by Typhoon “Bising” (international name Surigae).

Villafuerte said all offices directly involved in the disaster risk reduction and management, delivery of basic and health services and other vital services shall continue their operations.

He said the suspension of work in other government agencies and private companies is highly encouraged and left this to the discretion of their respective heads.

As of 8 a.m., the overflowing river rendered roads impassable to all vehicles in Himagtocon, Lagonoy Spillway in Lagonoy town, he added.

Gremil Alexis Naz, Office of Civil Defense Bicol spokesperson, said as of Sunday night, at least 835 families or 3,251 individuals were evacuated from low-lying and coastal areas in Camarines Sur.
