More workplace infections found as Zambales COVID-19 tally balloons to 1,599
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales— At least 14 new COVID-19 cases were added to the growing list of infections in Zambales province, which were mostly traced to workplaces, according to officials on Tuesday (April 20).
Three of the new cases involved firefighters based in the town of Botolan, said Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, in his daily advisory.
Bueno said the other cases included those of a security guard at a remittance center and a call center agent in the capital town of Iba, a nurse in Botolan and an accounting manager in San Narciso town.
Most of the patients experienced mild COVID-19 symptoms, like cold, fever and cough.
They are now being treated at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba and other COVID-19 facilities in the province
As of Tuesday, the total COVID-19 cases in Zambales has reached 1,599.
