Vacancies available in Labor Day job fairs up to 44,000 — DOLE

MANILA, Philippines — Vacancies available in online job fairs that will start on Labor Day have gone up to over 44,000, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said Wednesday.

This was an increase of around 18,000 vacancies from the 26,000 jobs that were initially available for the job fairs.

“Mayroon kaming 44,000 na trabaho na available,” Bello said in an online media forum. “Baka pagdating ng May 1, aabot ‘yan ng 50,000,” he added.

According to data from DOLE, the 44,125 job openings are composed of 36,951 local jobs from 530 participating employers, and 7,174 overseas jobs from 48 employers.

DOLE said the top local vacancies are for production operators or factory workers, customer service representatives, contact tracers, sewers, and masons, carpenters, or rebarmen.

Meanwhile, the top vacancies abroad are for nurses, factory workers, mechanics, nursing aides or healthcare assistants, and cleaners.

The top industries to be featured in the job fairs are manufacturing, business process outsourcing, government service, textile, and construction, according to DOLE.
