Two shot dead in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — Two still unidentified people aboard their vehicle were shot dead in Quezon City on Wednesday night, according to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

In a statement, QCPD Director Gen. Antonio Yarra said that they already know the identities of the fatalities but are waiting for confirmation from their family.

The police report described the victims as one male person approximately 5 foot 6-7 inches tall, chubby, and with a brown complexion. The woman, on the other hand, was approximately 30-35 years old, wearing a black dress, chubby, fair-skinned, and with a diamond tattoo on her back.

Yarra said he already ordered the city’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit to conduct a thorough investigation of the shooting of the two unidentified victims in Brgy. Doña Mariana, Quezon City to determine the motive behind the shooting.

The police report narrated that the victims were shot dead while onboard their vehicle, a silver Hyundai Elantra, about 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday along Broadway Ave. corner 6th Street, Brgy. Doña Mariana, New Manila, Quezon City by four unidentified armed suspects.

Multiple gunshots were heard in the neighborhood, according to a witness walking down 7th Street. He then spotted two unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle alongside the victim’s automobile when he arrived at the scene. The back rider alighted the motorcycle and opened fire on the victim’s vehicle.

The same suspect then dragged the female victim from the vehicle; the woman attempted to flee but was shot in the process. The assailants then proceeded to escape with their weapon.

Barangay safety officers passing along Broadway Ave. saw the incident and immediately reported it to the police authorities for investigation and proper disposition.

The victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies that led to their immediate death.

Authorities recovered M16 rifle Caliber 5.56 fired cartridge shells, P531,600.00 in cash, many pieces of jewelry, a laptop, various IDs, two cellular phones, and a Louis Vuitton bag at the murder scene.

The QCPD is urging “anyone who can give any relevant information that will lead to the resolution of this case to report to the nearest police station.”
