MANILA, Philippines — The government should expedite vaccination in “commuter towns” near Metro Manila to prevent these towns from becoming areas of concern.

These towns are Obando, Meycauayan, Marilao and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan; Montalban, San Mateo, Antipolo, Cainta and Taytay in Rizal; Bacoor, Dasmariñas in Cavite; and San Pedro in Laguna.

“Faster vaccine rollouts in these commuter towns will expedite the return to normalcy of the country’s economic center,” Rizal 2nd District Rep. Juan Fidel Nograles said on Friday. —JULIE M. AURELIO
