Duterte declares June 24 to July 3 as national days of mourning for Aquino

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has declared June 24, 2021, to July 3, 2021, as national days of mourning for former President Benigno S. Aquino III, Malacañang said Thursday.

In a statement, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte signed Proclamation No. 1169, declaring as such to honor Aquino.

“In this regard, the national flag shall be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on all government buildings and installations throughout the Philippines and abroad for a period of ten (10) days,” Roque said.
