PHLPost to release commemorative stamp honoring ex-president Noynoy Aquino

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will release a commemorative stamp in honor of former president Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

PHLPost made the announcement as it mourned the passing of the former president.

“The Philippine Postal Corporation (Post Office) led by Postmaster General Norman “Mr. Postman” Fulgencio mourns the passing of former President Benigno S. Aquino III,” PHLPost said in a Facebook post.

“The Post Office is now preparing to release a commemorative stamp in honor of his significant contribution and service to the country,” it added.

Aquino died in his sleep on June 24, with his death certificate indicating renal disease secondary to diabetes as the cause of death.

He was laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park in Paranaque City on Saturday.
