Active COVID-19 cases in Olongapo City down by 61 percent in 1 month

OLONGAPO CITY—The number of active COVID-19 cases here has gone down to 199 after the recovery of eight more patients, an official said Monday, July 5.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said the city’s recoveries have gone up to 2,269, an 86.8-percent rate out of the 2,612 infections logged since last year.

The city’s active COVID-19 cases peaked at 323 on June 5.

The current active cases reflected a 61-percent decrease in one month.

No new deaths related to the disease were registered in the city on the same day. Its death toll remained at 144.
