Palace wishes Pacquiao luck in fight: Best in boxing, not as good elsewhere
MANILA, Philippines — “He’s best in the boxing ring, and probably not as good elsewhere.”
This is how presidential spokesperson Harry Roque wished boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao luck on his in August.
“We wish all Filipinos the best of luck in whatever they do best, and pagdating kay Manny Pacquiao, , and probably not as good elsewhere,” he said in a press briefing.
The administration is currently at odds with Pacquiao after the senator started to criticize the government, recently accusing it of corruption.
Responding to President Rodrigo Duterte’s challenge to identify corruption-hit government agencies, Pacquiao named the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

Roque has hit these allegations as “worthless” as supposed revelations were only generalized and not backed by evidence.
He has called the accusations as “watusi” instead of an “atom bomb.”
