3 infected as COVID-19 hits medical lab in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—An owner of a medical laboratory and two of his workers were among the 18 new COVID-19 cases in this province on Tuesday, July 6.

Data from the provincial health office showed that the 54-year-old laboratory owner was infected together with his 54-year-old medical technologist and 16-year-old encoder.

The province’s other new COVID-19 cases were two public school teachers in San Marcelino town.

To date, the province still has 402 active infections out of the 3,538 cases logged since last year. At least 3,055 of them had recovered from the viral disease, but 80 had died.

The province has vaccinated 32,941 residents belonging to the priority groups. At least 11,615 of these had been fully vaccinated.
