PDEA, Naia task group seize P9.5-M worth of party drugs in QC

PDEA and Naia-IADITG arrested two suspected drug peddlers and seized 5,637 pieces of ecstasy tablets worth P9.5m in Quezon City.

MANILA, Philippines 鈥斅 The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Naia Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (Naia-IADITG) arrested two suspected drug personalities and seized 5,637 pieces of ecstasy tablets or 鈥減arty drugs鈥 worth P9.5 million in Quezon City on Monday.

Naia-IADITG commander Christian Frivaldo identified the arrested suspects as Isabella Albano, resident of Quezon City; and Jessica Mu帽oz, resident of Bacoor, Cavite.

The operatives arrested the two after an interdiction operation on an inbound parcel containing several pieces of ecstasy pills, concealed in a foot massager on July 12, 2021, at the Quezon City Central Post Office, Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City.

Confiscated during the operation were 5,637 pieces of colored ecstasy (MDMA) tablets聽 with an estimated value of P9,582,900.00.

According to Frivaldo, the parcel was declared as 鈥渃hildren鈥檚 toys and apparel鈥 from Germany.

The arrested drug personalities are now facing criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 or 鈥淭he Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.鈥
