MANILA, Philippines 鈥� Catholics are again encouraged to attend Masses through online livestreams after dioceses in Metro Manila ordered the suspension of religious gatherings to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
This follows the imposition of enhanced community quarantine 鈥� the strictest quarantine level 鈥� in the National Capital Region from Aug. 6 to Aug. 20.
鈥淲e encourage the faithful to stay at home and stay safe 鈥� We will reopen our churches for public worship on Aug. 21 if conditions improve,鈥� Bishop Honest Ongtioco of Cubao said on Saturday.
