500 cops deployed to man checkpoints as Bulacan tightens border controls
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan—Some 500 police officers were deployed to man various quarantine control points and checkpoints in Bulacan province to help ease the congestion of vehicles, authorities said.
Capt. Nor Usman, Bulacan provincial police office information officer, has asked those manning the control points to provide separate lanes for four-wheels, motorcycles, cargoes, authorized persons outside residence (APORs), and essential workers to avoid long queues.
At least 50 quarantine control points and checkpoints were set up in 21 towns and three cities of Bulacan as part of the intensified measures to contain the spread of the more transmissible CPVID-19 Delta variant.
On Tuesday, motorists were stuck in gridlock due to the heavy traffic congestion at some of the control points.
