MANILA, Philippines — Fifty-five areas in Quezon City are now under “special concern lockdown” following an increase in COVID-19 cases, the city government said Tuesday night.

The Quezon City government said only particular areas are under lockdown, not the entire barangay.

Those affected will get food packs and essential kits from the local government.

They will also undergo swab testing and 14-day quarantine, the city government added.

As of Tuesday, Quezon City has a total of 117,476 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 7,569 active cases (6.4%), 108,636 recoveries (92.5%), and 1,271 deaths (1.1%).
