OLONGAPO CITY鈥擜ll of the intensive care unit beds here have been occupied due to the rising number of COVID-19 patients being treated in the city鈥檚 major COVID-19 facility, according to the Department of Health on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
The seven ICU beds in the city are located at James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital, which has a 75-percent bed occupancy rate in general.
Only 21 of 81 beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients at the hospital remained vacant, prompting the DOH to classify it as within the high-risk level.
All of the hospital鈥檚 20 ward beds for COVID-19 patients were also fully occupied, the same DOH data showed.
So far, the city has 684 active cases out of the 4,206 infections registered since last year.
Its death toll stood at 214 with one new fatality on Monday.
