3 confirmed dead, 19 injured due to Typhoon Jolina
MANILA, Philippines — Three were confirmed dead while 19 others were injured or ill after Typhoon Jolina’s onslaught in the country, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) announced on Sunday.
Four other individuals remain missing, the NDRRMC added.
Based on NDRRMC’s latest situation report, 14 deaths, five injuries, and three missing persons are still for validation.
A total of 81,048 families or 313,373 individuals were affected by the tropical cyclone.
Of the affected population, 2,958 families or 11,212 individuals are taking shelter in 181 evacuation centers.
Meanwhile, 4,575 households or 18,620 individuals are staying outside evacuation sites.
Article continues after this advertisementThe displaced population are from 1,346 affected barangays in Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Bicol, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Metro Manila.
Article continues after this advertisementThe number of damaged houses stood at 8,924 in Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.
Moreover, Jolina left P628 million worth of damages to agriculture and P57 million worth of damages to infrastructure, NDRRMC said.
