Baler’s active COVID-19 cases soar to 93 after logging 30 new cases

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The active COVID-19 cases in Aurora province’s capital town of Baler jumped to 93 after the municipal government recorded 30 new cases on Sunday, Sept. 19.

Data from the Aurora Emergency Operations Center showed that Baler only had 51 active cases a week ago.

Of the 93 active cases, eight are currently confined in hospitals, while 85 are under quarantine.

Reserva village has the most active cases at 17, followed by Suklayin with 16, and the villages of Barangay 5, Buhangin and Pingit with 10 active cases each.

Baler also registered zero recoveries and four new deaths on Sunday.

The town has recorded a total of 769 COVID-19 cases since last year, of which 638 have recovered while 38 have died.

On Sept. 17, Maria Aurora town had a surge of active cases after recording 71 new cases that day. The town has 106 active cases as of Sunday.
