516,000 Pfizer COVID-19 doses from COVAX facility arrive in PH

A total of 561,600 doses of the US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Monday evening.

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 561,600 doses of the US-made Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Monday evening.

The plane carrying the doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) at about 9:20 p.m.

This shipment brings the total vaccine doses delivered to the Philippines at nearly 65 million, 13 million of which have been delivered this month alone.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. earlier said the Philippines is expecting to receive a total of 34 million vaccine doses in September.

So far, more than 18.5 million Filipinos have received the complete dose of the vaccine, making them fully vaccinated against the severe respiratory illness.

Meanwhile, 22.8 million individuals have at least received one dose of the vaccine, making a total of 41.4 million vaccine doses administered in the country.
