35 villages put on lockdown in Ilagan City until Oct. 4

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — Thirty-five villages in this city have been placed under granular lockdown from 8 p.m. September 26 until 8 p.m. of October 4 in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 among residents.

Affected in the lockdown are villages Alibagu, Guinatan, Calamagui 2nd, Baculod, Bliss Village, Bagumbayan, Baligatan, Osmena, Sta. Barbara, San Vicente, Centro Poblacion, San Felipe, San Ignacio, Cabisera 2, Cabisera 4, Alinguigan 1st, Fuyo, Salindingan, Namnama, San Juan, Cabannungan 2nd, Alinguigan 2nd, Centro San Antonio, Manaring, Calamagui 1st, Camunatan, San Isidro, Siffu, Naguilian Norte, Cabisera 3, Cabiseria 8, Aggasian, Marana 3rd, Naguilian Sur, and Cabisera 22.

This was after the Department of Health recorded 125 cases from the villages on Friday but local officials are still awaiting confirmatory tests of batches of antigen positives.

Last month, the same villages were put under lockdown status, which was lifted September 21.

The new granular lockdown has caused some dismayed villagers to air their displeasure online, noting that they are still recovering from a five-day respite since the month-long lockdowns have affected most villages in this city.

Watchmen were deployed anew while villagers below 18 years old and 65 years old and above, pregnant women, and persons with co-morbidities are told to stay at home.

Curfew was set at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next day. Liquor ban is in effect.

Tricycles have been ordered to ply under the odd-even scheme to lessen travels.

Market days were also placed under a “by schedule” system with clustered barangays allowed to buy goods at the public market during their schedule at a limited time.
