/ 04:32 AM September 27, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte to deploy their medical personnel to help hospitals in need of more health workers amid the pandemic. The AFP plans to initially deploy five contingency teams composed of 25 medical personnel to hospitals in Metro Manila, said Col. Fatima Claire Navarro, Surgeon General of the AFP. The PNP has committed its Medical Reserve Force with around 150 members to help medical facilities. The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases will determine which hospitals in the National Capital Region would be augmented.
