Bicol Medical Center’s COVID-19 isolation ward now at full capacity
NAGA CITY–The Bicol Medical Center (BMC) here, one of the region’s COVID-19 referral hospitals, announced on Monday that their COVID-19 isolation wards are now at full capacity.
In an official statement released by Dr. Francisco Sales, Medical Center Chief, he said their hospital has recorded an average of 157 patients daily from September 13 to 26.
“Based on the BMC – Hospital Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (HESU) data, our hospital recorded a daily average of 100 patients in the first and second week of September. However, from September 13 to September 26, our hospital has recorded an average of 157 patients daily,” Sales said.
As of 8 am, Monday, the Bicol Medical Center has a total of 176 COVID-19 patients.
As of September 26, Bicol has recorded a total of 36,029 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic started last year. Of this number, 23,653 are recoveries and 1,086 are deaths.
The region still has 11,290 active cases.
