ILIGAN CITY — Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong Jr. suspended the implementation of the ‘No Movement Sunday’ rule on Oct. 3 in deference to the ongoing filing of candidacies before the local offices of the Commission on Election (Comelec).

The filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs) is from Friday, Oct. 1, through Oct. 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., including Saturday and Sunday.

The provincial interagency task force on COVID-19 earlier recommended the reimposition of the ‘No Movement Sunday’ rule following a recent spike of infections in the past months.

Unless lifted by the task force, the rule will be reinstated on Oct. 10, Adiong said.
