OLONGAPO CITY鈥擜 50-year-old former member of a communist group in Zambales has voluntarily surrendered to government authorities, police said on Thursday, Oct. 21.
In a report, the Police Regional Office 3 identified the man as 鈥淜a Battery,鈥� a farmer and a resident of Barangay Dolores in Cabangan town.
Last week, two members of rebel groups in this province also voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Zambales. They were identified as 鈥淢ichael鈥� and 鈥淪herly.鈥�
Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, PRO3 director, said former rebels who would turn themselves in would be eligible to avail of the government鈥檚 Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
