DOST-12 exec hurt in Koronadal City gun attack
KORONADAL CITY––An official of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Region 12 survived a slay attempt Wednesday morning in this city.
Lt. Col. Joedy Lito Guisinga, City police chief, identified the victim as Engr. Normina Pahm, assistant regional director of DOST-12.
The 55-year-old Pahm was with two female coworkers around 7:30 a.m., waiting for the DOST-12 service vehicle, which will bring them to the regional office in Barangay Saravia, when a lone gunman shot her.
She and her companions were on a roadside steel swing at Block 1, Mabini Street in Barangay Zone 4 when the gunman casually approached them and opened fire using a cal. 45 pistol.
After shooting, the gunman hurriedly left and boarded a vehicle a few meters away from the crime scene.
Article continues after this advertisementPahm was hit in her right shoulder and was rushed to the South Cotabato provincial hospital.
“We are still investigating. The victim is now in stable condition,” Guisinga said in a radio interview.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the attacker.
