MANILA, Philippines — A Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. – Sen. Bong Go tandem in the 2022 presidential elections is impossible, Energy Secretary and PDP-Laban president Alfonso Cusi said Friday.

“I think that will not happen because we have already firmed up ang pagtakbo ng tandem ni Bato [Senator Ronald Dela Rosa] and Bong Go. Sa ngayon, imposible because we are no longer in touch with them,” Cusi said in an interview with The Source.

Marcos does not have a vice presidential candidate yet while Go is Dela Rosa’s vice presidential running mate under the ruling PDP-Laban.

Cusi said he has previously talked with Marcos but “nothing materialized” during the meeting.

In a radio interview on October 17, Senator Imee Marcos said “everything is possible” when asked about a possible tandem between Go and her brother Bongbong.

Currently, the camp  of Marcos  is eyeing bets with bailiwicks in the Visayas and Mindanao as his vice presidential candidate, including fellow presidential bet Senator Manny Pacquiao.
