1,677 of 2,302 pass the Physician licensure exams

MANILA, Philippines — The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday announced that 1,677 of 2,302 aspiring doctors passed the October, November Physician Licensure Exams (PLE).

This exam was originally scheduled for September but was moved to October 30 to 31 and November 1 to 2, after it was canceled due to the implementation of the modified enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila.

Ian Gabriel Alparaque Juyad of the University of the Philippines (UP)-Manila topped the list of future Physicians with a score of 87.50 percent.

In second place is a tie between Jian Kenzo Ong Leal and Geremiah Edison Daniel Cosia Llanes, both also from UP Manila, with a score of 87.42 percent. They are closely followed by Alyssa May Bringas Madriaga from the University of Santo Tomas with 87.33 percent.

Meanwhile, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) topped the list of best performing schools with a passing rate of 98.06 percent (101 of 103 students).

PLM is followed by UP Manila with a passing rate of 96.30 percent (78 of 81) in second place, and Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health at 96 percent (144 of 150) in third.

The PLE was conducted at testing centers located in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan by the Board of Medicine.
