UP Diliman to reopen Academic Oval on November 15

MANILA, Philippines – The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman’s academic oval will be reopened to the public on  Monday, November 15.

In a Facebook post on Friday, UP Diliman said its academic oval in Quezon City will be open from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m., and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. everyday to the public, regardless of their vaccination statuses.

The area is frequented by joggers, runners and other fitness enthusiasts.

Individuals who wish to visit the oval, are required to wear a face mask.

UP Diliman said bikers can use University Avenue, Jacinto, Lakandula, Quirino, Ma. Guererro, Laurel Avenue, Balagtas and Magsaysay Avenue.

“Areas 1, 2 and 3 and other residential areas on campus are off-limits to bikers. Counterclockwise direction will be followed,” the university announced.

Meanwhile, families or groups of ten or less are also allowed to gather in open spaces along University Avenue, Sunken Garden and PAUW or the Philippine Association of University Women’s Child Care Center.

These will remain open during the academic oval’s opening hours.
