MANILA, Philippines 鈥� The Office of the Vice President (OVP) will bring its COVID-19 vaccine express to Catanduanes on Wednesday,聽 December 1.
The vaccination initiative in Catanduanes coincides with the national government鈥檚 three-day national vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1.
聽鈥淪a December 1, nasa Catanduanes kami kasi mayroong pending request sa atin si Governor [Joseph] Cua na dalhin natin 鈥榶ung vaccine express du鈥檔,鈥� Vice President Leni Robredo said during the BISErbisyong LENI radio program on Sunday.
(On December 1, we鈥檒l go to Catanduanes because Governor Cua has a pending request to bring the vaccine express there.)

鈥淜asi isa sa pinakahuli talaga na nabigyan 鈥榶ung Bicol region. Mabagal 鈥榶ung pagdala sa 鈥榤in. Ngayon pa lang nagca-catch up. Pero nung mga naunang buwan, ang bagal talaga ng pagpadala,鈥� she added.
(One of the last areas that received COVID-19 vaccines was the Bicol region. The deployment of vaccines聽 is slow. We鈥檙e catching up just now. But, during the earlier months, the delivery was slow.)
鈥淢edyo mataas 鈥榶ung kaso sa kanila. As of last week, nung nag-request sila sa 鈥榯in, Alert Level 4 sila. So, nagre-request sila para mapabilis 鈥榶ung pag-dispense ng bakuna,鈥� she noted.
(The number of cases in Catanduanes is quite high. As of last week, when they requested us, they were under Alert Level 4. So, they made the request to expedite the dispensing of vaccines.)
The vaccine express is the OVP鈥檚 initiative, in partnership with local government units, wherein Robredo鈥檚 team would provide vaccinators to hasten the administration of vaccines.
