MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso encouraged Filipinos to emulate  Andres Bonifacio’s patriotism.

In his speech during the 158th birth anniversary of Bonifacio on Tuesday, November 30, Domagoso said that while it is true that foreigners are welcome to do business in the country, Filipinos own the Philippines.

“Wag tayong mag-away-away. Maaari tayong magdiskursyo, kani-kaniyang idea, kanya-kanyang opinion, but at the end of the day, we must come together as one nation.

Come together. Let’s work hand-in-hand. We deserve to live in our present and together build back for our better future.

Domagoso stressed that the public should not forget what happened in the past and learn from history in order not to repeat the mistakes done before.

He also paid tribute to the medical frontliners, whom he tagged as modern day heroes, for all the sacrifices that they have done amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ngayong araw na ito ay kinikilala natin sila sapagkat nakalulungkot man isipin iyong mga doktor at nurses, some of them, paid also the ultimate prize, while serving our people,” he said.
