Amihan to bring light rain in Luzon, Western Visayas on Monday — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan,” will bring light rain in Luzon and parts of the Visayas on Monday, the state weather service reported Sunday.

Pagasa, in its latest bulletin, said Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and the northern portion of Quezon including the Polillo Islands will experience cloudy skies and light rain.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Western Visayas are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain also due to the “amihan.”

A shear line or the tail end of a cold front will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms in the Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Oriental.

The rest of the country is set to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa raised gale warnings in the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon; eastern seaboard of Central Luzon; western seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon; as well as the eastern seaboard of Visayas and Mindanao due to the northeast monsoon.

The coastlines in the said areas will experience rough to very rough sea conditions with a wave height of 2.8 to 4.5 meters, according to Pagasa.
