La Trinidad, Benguet temperature dips to 10.8°C

The temperature in La Trinidad, Benguet dipped to 10.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the lowest recorded in the country during this amihan season.

MANILA, Philippines — The temperature in La Trinidad, Benguet dipped to 10.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, the lowest recorded in the country during this amihan season.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, continues to prevail over Luzon and some parts of Visayas.

As of 8 a.m., Pagasa also logged the following low temperatures in the following areas:

  • Abucay, Bataan – 20.4°C
  • Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – 20.4°C
  • Infanta, Quezon – 20.5°C
  • Science Garden, Quezon City – 20.8°C

On Sunday, Pagasa logged the lowest temperatures in Metro Manila and Baguio City with 20.4 degrees Celsius and 11.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The amihan season, which started in October, is a cool and dry northeast wind coming from Siberia and China that blows down to Southeast Asia.
