Feast of Immaculate Conception reminds us to be in state of grace, be holy — Robredo
MANILA, Philippines — The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary reminds individuals to strive to be in a state of grace and to be holy, Vice President Leni Robredo said on Wednesday.
The vice president likewise stressed the importance of surrendering one’s self to God.
“Napakahalaga ng mga ganitong selebrasyon kasi pinapaalala sa ‘tin ‘yung mga mahahalagang aral ng Immaculate Conception. Ang pinakauna doon ‘yung total surrender to the Will of God na based on faith,” she said during the concelebrated mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
(These kinds of celebrations remind us of the important learnings of the Immaculate Conception. First, the total surrender to the will of God based on faith.)
“Pangalawa, at tingin ko ‘yun ‘yung mas importante, ‘yung (Second, and I think this is more important, is) to strive every single day to be in the state of grace, to strive every single day to be holy,” Robredo added.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary is a special non-working holiday. The religious figure is the principal patroness of the Philippines.
