Tarlac’s active COVID-19 cases up by 25 percent in 5 days

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—Tarlac’s active COVID-19 case rose by 25 percent in the last five days, data from the provincial government showed.

From 39 active cases on Dec. 18, the number increased to 52 on Thursday, Dec. 23.

The provincial government registered four new cases, two recoveries and zero deaths on the same day. The newly infected persons were residents of Bamban, Concepcion, Gerona and Santa Ignacia towns with ages between 13 and 37.

Gerona has the most active cases with 10, followed by Concepcion with seven and six each in Tarlac City, Bamban and Victoria.

Six towns are currently free of COVID-19–Anao, Ramos, San Manuel, San Clemente, La Paz and Moncada.

The province has recorded a total of 19,006 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 18,116 were recoveries and 838 deaths.
