Motorcycle rider dead, 2 others hurt in Batangas accident

LUCENA CITY – A motorcycle rider died and two other motorcyclists were injured in a road accident in San Juan, Batangas early Saturday, police said.

San Juan police reported that Jerson Abrillo, 20, while traveling aboard his motorcycle was accidentally hit by another motorcyclist, John Englebert Correo, 21, in Barangay (village) Abung at around 2:15 a.m.

Both motorcyclists and Correo’s back-rider, John Rey Quizada, 23, all sustained grave injuries and were taken to the nearest hospital but Quisada died on the way there.

Quoting the medical report, police said Correo and Quesada “were under the influence of intoxicating liquor.”
